Rafer Johnson Junior High School Athletic Field Improvements involved the demolition of existing athletic facilities and the construction of multiple new amenities. The project delivered a new baseball field and backstop, three basketball/volleyball courts, four post-tensioned tennis courts with eight pickleball courts, an eight-lane rubberized track, a shotput area, and a multipurpose athletic field. Construction took place during the spring and summer at an active school site in a residential area, requiring careful coordination to minimize disruption to classes and state testing. Kingsburg Elementary Charter School District maximized project value by adding around 17% more work using unused bond funds, all completed within the original contract timeframe.
